Garfield County Libraries schedule for March 10-16

The Garfield County Libraries has some upcoming events that will interest readers, writers and animal enthusiasts.
First, the Carbondale Branch Library is featuring local author Konrad Nau at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 19 as he shares adventures, mishaps and transformative experiences from his coast-to-coast bicycle trip from 1974. Traverse the backroads and side stories of America from 50 years ago and take the time to reflect on what has since happened to the people and quirky places in his life and perhaps your own — with or without a bicycle. This event is free and Nau’s book will be on sale following the event. For more information, call the Carbondale Branch Library at 970-963-2889.
The next event is the Paws & Tails Adoption event at the Rifle Branch Library where Journey Home Animal Care Center will be bringing animals up for adoption. Cats and dogs will be at the library from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, March 21, so get ready to meet animals looking for their “furever” home whilst picking out some books. This is a chance to connect with animals and perhaps find a match to bring home. For more information, call the Rifle Branch Library at 970-625-3471.
Be sure to visit the libraries’ events page, as some events may require pre-registration or include details not listed here. The webpage can be found at gcpld.org/news-and-events.
