History in Focus: The long-gone Orpheum in Glenwood Springs

The Orpheum Theatre at 823 Grand Ave. was originally named the Isis Theatre and opened its doors on March 16, 1910.  Entertainment included plays, concerts and moving pictures. In 1914, under new ownership, the Isis name was changed to the Orpheum. Then in 1939, it became the Glen Theater.  However, in 1983, condemnation forced the closing of the Glen. This is currently where Stoneyard Distillery Tasting Room is located.
