Man arrested by Rifle Police Department after running away from alleged victim

The Rifle Police Department arrested a man on numerous charges Wednesday night, at approximately 10:46 p.m., after a Rifle PD officer observed a female running away from a male in the 800 block of South Whiteriver Ave. 

The female told the officer she needed help and after they spoke, the male fled the area. With the help of the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office, a perimeter was established and Rifle PD officers worked quickly to locate the suspect. 

The male was contacted near his residence and taken into custody without incident. 



The suspect was booked into the Garfield County Jail on the following charges:

  • Felony menacing, a class five felony
  • Harassment, a class one misdemeanor
  • False imprisonment, a class two misdemeanor
  • Domestic violence, a sentencing enhancer
