Our amazing, wonderful friend Marsha Juozaitis passed away on February 20th 2025 at the age of 71, in Grand Junction Colorado following a sudden illness that took Marsha from us sadly way too soon.
Marsha was born July 19th 1953 in Rome NY to parents Lieutenant Colonel Elmer Juozaitis and Lorraine Sullivan. Marsha attended Rhein Main American School in Germany while her father was stationed in the Air Force as a Fighter Pilot. It was there that Marsha was first introduced to and fell in love with skiing. Upon moving back to the US they moved to St. Petersburg Florida where Marsha graduated from Boca Ciega High School with honors, then attended and graduated from Florida State University.
It was in the late 70’s that Marsha moved to Aspen Colorado. In Aspen Marsha made many lasting friendships, memories and loved everything Aspen had to offer and lived life to its fullest!! Marsha was fortunate to work at two of the most iconic places in the Roaring Fork Valley. She worked 20 plus years at Gwyn’s High Alpine Restaurant on Snowmass mountain during the winters and at the Woody Creek Tavern in the summers.
In 1998 Marsha graduated from the Glenwood Beauty Academy as a cosmetologist. It was around this time that Marsha, unselfishly, left the valley and moved to Colorado Springs to take care of her aging parents and became a licensed CNA. Amazingly, also opening up her own beauty salon. Marsha truly was a go getter!! She was always recreating herself and learning many new skills as her situations changed. Marsha worked as a brand representative, caregiver, and personal assistant. She was also “creative” in every sense of the word. Always creating something beautiful and festive to celebrate her friends and loved ones. But Marsha was happiest when she could be outdoors exploring, skiing, hiking, biking, and enjoying nature’s beauty.
Marsha moved to her Clifton Cottage in 2020 and enjoyed life to the fullest there; gardening, Blogging her favorite recipes, creating gifts of art alongside her beloved cat “Kitty Kid” and keeping up with the nations politics. She worked as an excellent caregiver with Comfort Keepers up until her passing.
Marsha will be remembered by all who loved her as a very classy, sassy, hardworking, fun loving, life of the party who can never be forgotten or replaced.
In the 3rd grade her teacher summed her up nicely, “Marsha has a pleasant, friendly personality and sense of humor and seems to enjoy SO MANY THINGS” That was Marsha in a nutshell!!
A celebration of life will be held June 29th from 2:00-5:00 @ 440 Equestrian Way in Carbondale, CO.
And lastly, in Marsha’s honor, can we all get out and support our local/favorite animal shelter or charity with a donation of our time or money. Marsha would love that and so would a lot of doggies and kitties.
